My name is Giangiacomo and welcome to my site!
I started playing the bassoon as a child in the music school of the band of my town Besana in Brianza under the guidance of Maestro Carla de Vito and then Oscar Meana. Having become fond of the instrument, I decided to continue my studies and attended the Guido Cantelli Conservatory in Novara with Maestro Diego Chenna, where I obtained my Bachelor's degree. I then obtained my first Master's degree at the Hochschule der Kunste Bern with Maestro Daniele Galaverna. I am currently studying in The Hague with Maestro Bram van Sambeek.
During these years I have had many opportunities to play in different orchestras. These include the "Polledro" Chamber Orchestra, the Piedmont Youth Orchestra and the Mediterranean Youth Orchestra.
In addition to playing the bassoon, I have been actively involved in the construction of reeds. The art of reed making has always fascinated me. Given my curious nature and my love of physics, I am carrying out various studies to better understand how a reed works while it vibrates, and this always leads to new insights and ideas on how to improve its construction.
